2nd Runner-Up Award in AI Thailand Hackathon 2025
School of Information Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang congratulates undergraduate students of the faculty and their cross-institutional teammates for winning the 2nd Runner-Up award in the AI Thailand Hackathon 2025 competition under the theme “From AI Model to Service on AI for Thai,” organized by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) through the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). The final round and award ceremony were held on August 2, 2025.
The AI Thailand Hackathon 2025 aims to promote the widespread application of AI technology. This competition is a significant step in pushing and elevating the skills of Thai AI developers, transforming AI models into 'service' in the form of Service APIs on the AI for Thai platform developed by NECTEC NSTDA, to strengthen the country's AI ecosystem. We expect that the works from this stage will be able to be further developed into sustainable services and create positive impacts on the country’s economy and society. This event received applications from over 70 teams nationwide, which were rigorously selected down to the final 25 teams, totaling 70 people.
Team "EX-Machina," comprising 3 members: Mr. Wathin Promfai and Mr. Watcharawit Homrangsrid (3rd-year undergraduate students in Data Science and Business Analytics, School of Information Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang), together with Mr. Sawit Kosiyamornporn (4th-year undergraduate student, Faculty of Computer Engineering, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi), won the 2nd Runner-Up award with their project DAMZ (Detect-anything-model with Zero-shot Object Detection), an object and action detection technology that operates without requiring new training data, aiming to reduce the limitations of AI usage in industries or agriculture that need large datasets and high costs.
